UPDATE ON MISSING WOMAN

It was reported on Sunday, that Mrs. Linda Johnson, went missing. We are very sorry to report that she was found dead in an area ditch. Her husband is in custody and being charged with her murder. He reported his wife missing Sunday and then ran from police while they searched the couple's apartment where a blood soaked mattress was found. Shortly after his arrest the husband admitted to striking his wife but denied foul play. However, Monday, during a recorded phone call to a family member he admitted that he murdered his wife and told the location of her body. With this information the Police located the remains of the 50 year old woman. Unlike, others reporting this sad story, I knew the victim when I worked at Wal-Mart and she was a dedicated customer and friendly human being. When I saw her the Saturday, before her death we were both in Wal-Mart shopping. It's hard to forget the smile on her face and it's sad that her demise came in the sorry shape of a crack head that she shared her life with. This is the second time in the past few months that domestic violence has lead to murder on North McGuire Avenue. Domestic Violence is becoming to prevalent in this country and it should be addressed more seriously because we are losing too many women to this destructive behaviour. As for the Monroe Police Department....I digress.

Monroe Police Department - Don't Care

Ronald E. Schleuter
Police Chief
Monroe, Louisiana

Today is just another blemish on the Monroe Police Department's Record concerning the black citizens of Monroe. My husband and I were watching the 10:00 News when we saw a Missing Alert for a black female citizen Mrs. Linda Johnson. We called the Monroe Police Department and spoke with a female officer or dispatcher, we explained to her that we saw the missing woman yesterday in the Louisville Avenue "Wal-Mart" and we wanted to report where we last saw her. The female officer/dispatcher told us that she knew nothing about it and that she was just coming on shift and she would tell somebody plus she hung up the phone in our face. First of all she was rude and secondly she just did not care. What makes it sad is she herself is a citizen as well as a black female. Wouldn't she want help if she was this woman? She did not bother to write down the time or place we saw this poor woman. Regardless if you're an desk jockey, foot patrol, investigator, etc., your job is of a public servant and the description is to protect and serve. Get it right or go clean toilets, at least you would have an excuse to have a shitty attitude. I guess this is why those poor unfortunate women where killed while the Monroe Police Department smiled for the cameras, stood outside and played with their thumbs. At least they got their man, he killed himself after murdering those defenseless women. By the way these victims where white but they fell under the category white trash no better than black. WOW...I feel so safe. NOT!!!
